Your Job Description

  • Ensure that country setup adheres to the Financial Handbook, NRC policies, donor, and auditor requirements.
  • Maintain overall compliance with national and NRC policies and procedures.
  • Train staff on anti-corruption policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provide regular compliance analysis and reports.
  • Implement the anti-corruption policy.
  • Conduct and follow up on spot checks to ensure compliance with SOPs, policies, and documentation across various departments.
  • Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy.
  • Manage, coordinate, and act as the focal point for all donor financial audits in the NRC Nigeria office.
  • Ensure that financial risks are identified, assessed, and controlled effectively.

The Job Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as an Auditor or Compliance Manager in a humanitarian or recovery context.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business Studies, or Economics (Essential).
  • Membership in a professional accounting body such as ICAN, ACCA, or CIMA is an asset.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Studies (Desirable).
  • Experience working in complex and volatile environments.
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of own leadership skills and profile.
  • Strong proficiency in computer software and modern accounting systems.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of the Nigerian context.
  • Knowledge of local languages in North East Nigeria (Hausa).
  • Experience with start-up, exit, or similar organizational phases.
