Our Legal Team takes responsibility for developing and safeguarding our company’s global mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, divestitures, and strategic investments. We provide critical legal support across all product companies working closely with the company’s business development team and all of the legal department’s functions. We partner with the business to provide advice, guidance and action to ensure the success of the future of our business.
As a Labor and Employment Counsel, you will be responsible for advising and representing Baker Hughes, on a wide range of issues related to workplace law, including compliance, litigation, and strategic planning.
Your Job Description
As a Labor and Employment Counsel, you will be responsible for:
Managing labor and employment litigations, including understanding employment laws, conducting thorough investigations, and exploring all available resolution options.
Supporting internal human resources teams in all employment legal-related matters and providing needed guidance.
Specializing in laws & regulations, policies & practices as it pertains to employees, including benefits, compensation, and human rights.
Providing guidance and counsel in union negotiations and employee relations matters.
Advising functional managers or other departments regarding approaches, processes, and procedures in your field.
Handling communication with direct colleagues and the business about approaches and methods for solving complex problems.
Leading as a project leader of medium-sized projects or serving as a major contributor to larger projects.
The Job Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Legal.
Valid admission to the local legal bar exam.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in labor and employment for SSA.
Prior experience in-house or in a law firm.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Excellent project management skills.
Fluency in English.
