About the Role

The Area Business Manager will coordinate sales, collections, and distribution operations in their assigned area for the direct distribution of Sun King Solar products sold on a Pay-As-You-Basis ("EasyBuy" Business unit). The Area Business Manager is responsible for generating sales, ensuring timely and accurate collections, and driving sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hire & Retain Energy Officers: Recruit, train, and maintain a team of at least 40 Sun King Energy Officers using community influencers.
  • Training Energy Officers: Provide training on sales, collections, products, technical aspects, inventory, and logistics while ensuring professional conduct.
  • Provide Role Clarity: Clearly define daily tasks, sales & collection plans, routes, and targets for Energy Officers.
  • Daily Field Visits: Conduct weekly check-ins with each Energy Officer, assisting with sales and addressing concerns.
  • Work with Energy Officers: Conduct joint fieldwork, including night activations, market visits, and community gatherings for group sales.
  • Exceed Sales & Collection Targets: Meet or exceed monthly targets and provide regular updates.
  • Drive Field Sales Processes: Train Energy Officers to enhance collections, resolve issues, and repossess systems if needed.
  • Monitor Competitors: Track competing companies in the region and take measures to protect Sun King's market share.
  • Resolve Customer Issues: Provide world-class customer service for product delivery, payments, installation, and after-sales support.
  • Manage Marketing & Expenses: Distribute marketing materials and manage investments in supply chain, store maintenance, and equipment.
  • Conduct Review Meetings: Organize weekly meetings with Energy Officers and Regional Business Managers to resolve issues and motivate the team.
  • Grow Retail Presence: Expand the retail network with the support of an Area Retail Coordinator.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business-related fields or equivalent with at least 3 years of sales experience.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Extensive customer care experience.
  • Innovative and creative thinker.
  • Strong planning, organizing, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building and coaching abilities.
  • Highly disciplined with a commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with the local territory.
