About the Role

We are looking for a diligent and well-organized team member to join our Risk department as an Area Collections Executive. The employee will drive the efforts and processes related to collections of our PAYG products in the field. They will also provide advice and suggestions on improving customer payments and satisfaction while ensuring that the company's offerings match end-users’ expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess regional portfolio and repayment trends, laying down daily, weekly, and monthly strategies to improve collection rates.
  • Conduct mystery market visits to confirm sales quality and obtain insights to mitigate repayment issues.
  • Provide weekly updates to Sales and Risk Management teams on field interventions and customer insights.
  • Design, pilot, and operationalize collection processes to improve repayments and customer satisfaction.
  • Work with Area Business Managers and Field Sales Executives to repossess products from delinquent customers when required.
  • Report cases of product tampering observed in the field through established mechanisms.
  • Facilitate reporting and actions against fraudulent practices, including misinformed sales and product tampering.
  • Train Field Sales Executives on repossessions and customer collection issues.
  • Ensure Field Officers complete their collection calls and repossession tasks on time.
  • Recruit cash collection centers and establish critical collection areas.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Higher Diploma in Finance, Community Development, Communication, Credit Risk Management, or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably with field experience and rural customer interactions.
  • Experience in Microfinance, Fintech, or banking, focusing on Credit Collections or debt recovery.
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks accurately and diligently.
  • Experience working with rural customers and resolving customer issues.
  • Issue-tracking and resolution skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple sales teams and cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of the territory is an added advantage.
