A leading medical hospital in Ilupeju, Lagos, is seeking a highly experienced Consultant Family Physician to lead clinical services, manage the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and oversee general surgery cases. The successful candidate will provide expert clinical leadership, ensure operational excellence, and promote continuous quality improvement within the hospital.
Your Job Description
Clinical Leadership
Provide expert patient care as a Consultant Family Physician.
Lead and supervise interdisciplinary medical teams to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery.
Promote evidence-based medicine and foster a culture of continuous medical education and professional development.
Operational Oversight
Manage daily clinical operations across ICU, general surgery, and other medical units.
Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and ethical standards.
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), treatment protocols, and clinical governance frameworks.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies for clinical performance improvement.
Strategic Development & Quality Assurance
Collaborate with hospital executive leadership to align clinical services with overall hospital objectives.
Lead quality improvement initiatives and champion patient safety programs.
Stay updated on medical innovations, emerging technologies, and best clinical practices.
Represent the hospital in professional medical forums, conferences, and industry associations.
Stakeholder Management & External Relations
Establish and maintain productive relationships with healthcare regulators and public health stakeholders.
Provide expert advisory support to the executive management on clinical and operational matters.
The Job Requirements
MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or West African College of Physicians (Family Medicine).
Valid Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) license with current practicing certification.
Minimum of 10 years post-fellowship experience, including at least 5 years in a clinical leadership role.
Proven expertise in ICU management and general surgery.
Deep understanding of Nigerian healthcare systems, standards, and regulatory environment.
Demonstrated track record in clinical leadership, operational management, and quality assurance.
