Role and Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for planning, directing/maintaining, troubleshooting, and coordinating activities.
- Maintain data centers and environmental facilities including UPS, backup power, fire prevention systems, and HVAC.
- Oversee monitoring of servers, applications, and other peripheral systems.
- Manage activities related to hardware decommissioning and services migration.
- Develop a deep knowledge of ECOWAS Center systems.
- Responsible for advanced troubleshooting of Storage and Backup/Recovery issues.
- Effectively drive change initiatives and operational efficiencies.
- Manage financial and cost control aspects of data center engineering.
- Assist in maintaining incident response plans.
Academic Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related ICT field.
- At least five (5) years of network, system engineering experience in a large-scale 24/7 data center.
- Experience with Mainframe, Unix, Windows Server, enterprise storage, networking.
- Strong understanding of design software tools (CAD, ANSYS, etc.).
