Role Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Principal Officer Operation, Infrastructure and Maintenance, the incumbent is responsible for planning and implementation of the ECOWAS contingency plans...

Role and Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for planning, directing/maintaining, troubleshooting, and coordinating activities.
  • Maintain data centers and environmental facilities including UPS, backup power, fire prevention systems, and HVAC.
  • Oversee monitoring of servers, applications, and other peripheral systems.
  • Manage activities related to hardware decommissioning and services migration.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of ECOWAS Center systems.
  • Responsible for advanced troubleshooting of Storage and Backup/Recovery issues.
  • Effectively drive change initiatives and operational efficiencies.
  • Manage financial and cost control aspects of data center engineering.
  • Assist in maintaining incident response plans.

Academic Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related ICT field.
  • At least five (5) years of network, system engineering experience in a large-scale 24/7 data center.
  • Experience with Mainframe, Unix, Windows Server, enterprise storage, networking.
  • Strong understanding of design software tools (CAD, ANSYS, etc.).
