Under the direct supervision of the Commissioner in Charge, the Director will provide leadership in IT strategy, policy development, and system implementation to support ECOWAS objectives.
Role and Responsibilities
Technical
Develop and maintain IT systems and infrastructure.
Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems and data.
Implement IT solutions to support business needs.
Stay updated with latest IT trends and technologies.
Management
Provide leadership to the IT department.
Develop IT strategies, policies, and procedures.
Manage IT budget and resources.
Represent ECOWAS in IT forums and conferences.
Strategy
Develop IT strategic plans to support organizational goals.
Identify and evaluate new technologies for efficiency.
Compliance
Ensure IT systems comply with regulations and industry standards.
Develop IT security and risk management plans.
Administrative
Oversee IT procurement and vendor management.
Ensure IT service continuity.
Reporting
Provide regular IT reports to senior management.
Develop IT dashboards and metrics.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
IT system uptime and availability
IT project delivery within budget
IT security and compliance
Academic Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Minimum 12 years of experience in IT management, 5 years in leadership.
Relevant IT certifications are an added advantage.
Age Limit
Applicants must be below 50 years old. Internal candidates are exempted.
