About the Job
We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist with approximately 2 years of experience who is interested in transitioning into a Biomedical Engineering role. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in laboratory science who is eager to be trained in the technical support, maintenance, and deployment of medical diagnostic equipment.
You will join our technical team in Kano, supporting healthcare facilities with biomedical equipment services while undergoing structured training to develop your skills in biomedical engineering.
Your Job Description
Training & Technical Development
Participate in structured training to build competence in biomedical equipment servicing.
Shadow experienced biomedical engineers on field installations and maintenance.
Equipment Maintenance & Support
Assist in the installation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory and medical diagnostic equipment.
Support routine preventive maintenance and equipment servicing tasks.
Learn to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on medical devices.
Healthcare Technology Deployment
Contribute to the introduction of new diagnostic technologies under supervision.
Collaborate with teams to support implementation of modern healthcare solutions.
Client Service & Communication
Provide basic technical support to laboratories and hospitals.
Assist in training end-users on safe and proper equipment handling.
Accurately document maintenance activities and service reports.
The Job Requirements
Education:
BMLS (Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent degree in Laboratory Science or related field.
Additional certifications or training in biomedical equipment handling is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory setting.
Exposure to laboratory equipment usage and maintenance.
Skills & Attributes:
Interest in biomedical technology and healthcare innovation.
Basic understanding of lab equipment and safety protocols.
Willingness to learn and grow into a technical field role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and travel when required.
