Job Summary

The Field Installation Support Engineer will be responsible for installing, configuring, and providing technical support for our products and systems at client sites. This role will require strong technical knowledge, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to ensure smooth, on-time installations and post-installation support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to a team of field installation engineers, ensuring that installations are executed efficiently and professionally.
  • Provide on-site and remote support to clients, ensuring the correct installation and configuration of systems or equipment.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee field installation schedules, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.
  • Ensure that all installations meet quality standards and align with safety regulations, industry best practices, and company policies.
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex issues, effectively diagnosing and resolving technical problems in the field.
  • Work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure customer requirements are met and issues are proactively addressed.
  • Conduct training sessions for subordinates to ensure they have the technical knowledge and customer service skills required for success.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing updates and status reports throughout the installation process.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Good knowledge of electrical mast installations.
  • Rigging experience is compulsory.
  • Field installation experience at Telecommunication companies is an added advantage.
  • Previous experience at Shell Nigeria is an advantage.
  • Project management experience.
  • Certifications in relevant technologies or systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience working on instrumentation or communication gadgets, offshore electrical equipment, etc.
  • Ability to perform on-site fieldwork at various client locations.
  • Willingness to travel to remote or offshore locations to supervise/support installations.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and extra hours during critical installation periods.

Professional Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a field installation or support engineering role.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and compliance standards.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and evolving work environment.
