Job Description

  • Carry out maintenance work as a Company (XOM) employee or Contractor resource, typically reporting to a supervisor.
  • Assist mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, and machines.
  • Help prepare proposals and cost estimates.
  • Actively participate in the use of all on-the-job safety tools.
  • Review job packs.
  • Identify any safety issues associated with the job and ensure removal/mitigation before proceeding.
  • Execute work as planned.
  • Record technical history as required by the workgroup (Global Reliability Tool (GRT), data sheets, etc.).
  • Provide feedback on job pack improvements to Execution FLS.
  • Request permits and notify the supervisor if the permit cannot be issued within 30 minutes of the requested time.

Job Requirements

  • Discipline-appropriate certification(s) if applicable, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to clearly and concisely describe field conditions and recommend remediation steps.
  • Team player; exhibits effective teamwork when working with others, even without direct authority, and willingness to assist.
  • Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent priority changes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
  • First degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • Qualified Certified Inspector of Petroleum.
