About the Job
The Project Planner/Scheduler is responsible for planning, organizing, and scheduling project activities. You will develop detailed project plans, define tasks, timelines, and resource requirements. You will utilize project management software, create Gantt charts and critical path analyses to visualize project schedules and identify potential bottlenecks.
As the Project Planner/Scheduler, you will monitor project progress, updates schedules as needed, communicate with stakeholders to ensure projects stay on track and ensure overall project success within the Project Management Office framework.
Your Job Description
Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand project objectives and requirements.
Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, deliverables, tasks, and timelines.
Create detailed project schedules using project management software and tools.
Identify critical path activities and dependencies to optimize project timelines.
Assess resource requirements and allocate personnel, equipment, and materials for project tasks.
Ensure optimal resource utilization and avoid overallocation.
Continue monitoring project progress and performance against the established schedule.
Identify potential delays or risks and implement corrective actions.
Generate regular progress reports and present them to project managers and stakeholders.
Provide updates on project status, milestones, and variances from the original plan.
Assist in identifying potential risks and uncertainties that could impact project timelines.
Collaborate with project teams to develop risk mitigation strategies.
Manage changes to the project schedule resulting from scope changes or unforeseen events.
Assess the impact of changes on project timelines and communicate adjustments to stakeholders.
Communicate with project managers, team members, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with the project schedule.
The Job Requirements
Academic / Professional Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Professional certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2.
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Planning/Scheduling.
Proficiency in project management software and tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
Experience in working within the Oil & Gas Sector will be considered an important advantage.
Prior work experience showing increasing levels of responsibility with a focus on operations in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.
