Responsible for Risk Management activities for a subsidiary of the Group – mainly monitoring risk(s) relating to Credit, Operational, and other Risks. Support the identification, assessment, mitigation, and management of risks for the company through a defined enterprise-wide risk framework, ensuring the risks are mitigated and monitored in accordance with the company's Risk Policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
Operational Risk Activities
Work closely with the Group Operational Risk team to ensure losses from internal processes, systems, people, and external events remain within the Group's risk appetite.
Support departments in identifying operational risk issues and designing controls to mitigate risks.
Ensure proper implementation of the operational risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
Ensure timely completion and rendition of Risk & Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
Develop KRIs to track new or emerging risk exposures.
Identify and report operational risk events using the Loss Incident Reporting tool.
Perform root cause analyses on identified risk events and recommend preventive controls.
Monitor implementation of action plans to address identified risks.
Report threats to Business Continuity and ensure contingency plans are in place.
Present key risk findings to Senior Management during meetings.
Promote a risk-aware culture through awareness programs.
Credit Risk Management Responsibilities
Assist the Head of Risk in fostering a strong credit risk management culture.
Provide SAP support to Credit Risk and Sales Teams.
Advise management on credit and sales operations risk mitigation strategies.
Ensure proper implementation of the Group’s credit risk framework, policies, and procedures.
Monitor credit risk exposure and operational efficiency.
Mitigate threats identified during SAP reviews of the sales process.
Improve turnaround time (TAT) on credit sales.
Provide daily exception reports on sales revenue and policy breaches.
Other Risk Functions
Monitor strategic risks related to governance, competition, and macroeconomic trends.
Monitor reputational risks that may impact brand equity.
Track emerging business risk exposures.
Ensure compliance with all ERM policies and procedures.
Support Risk Heads in customizing policies to align with regional regulations.
Prepare periodic reports, including Daily Sales & Collection Reports, Monthly Credit Reports, and Risk Reports for EXCO and the Board.
Render weekly Loss Incident Reports to the Group Operational Risk Team.
Requirements
Qualification & Experience
HND/Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Engineering.
Master’s degree or relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing or financial services.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
