Your Job Description
Seismic interpretation, characterization, and mapping of faults & fractures at reservoir levels. Generating and utilizing seismic attributes for better characterization of fractures, faults, and other structural, stratigraphic, and sedimentary features.
Interpret geophysical and geological data, use geologic concepts, and integrate information from a variety of geologic disciplines to develop leads, locate new exploration targets, estimate volumes, and recommend drillable prospects.
QC, analyse and integrate geological, geophysical and production data to develop existing fields, identify upside potential, and recommend optimal well placement for field development.
Integrate large amounts of geological, petrophysical and geophysical data to generate static models for input into reservoir simulation, reserves estimation, and development planning.
Perform detailed reservoir characterization using advanced geological analyses to support characterization & field development plans, platform evaluation, and well planning/drilling operations.
Generate in-house well designs, evaluate & review target locations and logging requirements while collaborating with the drilling and reservoir engineering teams.
Prepare well proposal documents and end-of-well reports.
Participate in exploration and development drilling operations. Ensure collection & storage of all subsurface data.
Work on new ventures in emerging areas including performing geophysical studies.
Participate in internal/external special geological/geophysical studies like sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, basin modelling, AVO and inversion.
Represent the company externally as a technical expert with government, partners, and industry when required. Maintain beneficial and positive relationships with same.
Assist the technical teams and provide related regulatory and compliance support on subsurface matters where needed.
Continuously evaluate potential value-adding opportunities in and around the company’s assets.
Understand new technologies and apply them to the challenges of E&P operations.
Provide guidance and mentoring to younger subsurface and support staff as required.
The Job Requirements
University degree in Geology or Geophysics – BSc. Master’s degree in Geosciences is an added advantage.
Demonstrable technical expertise, in particular, significant experience in seismic interpretation, development of structural and stratigraphic models using well and seismic data, and integrating with reservoir information.
Proficient in the use of workstation-based software (G&G applications and databases). Proficiency in Petrel is preferred.
Good understanding of production geology, including interpretation of fluid, test, and pressure data.
Good understanding of wellsite and operations geology.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite – Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
Designated team player with ability to collaborate with other team members to proffer solutions.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Self-motivation and strong interpersonal skills.
Highly flexible – ability to adapt to new project challenges and work practices.
