About the Job
Under the overall supervision of the WASH Program Manager, the selected candidate will work closely with field teams to ensure accurate, timely & consistent collection of WASH data in Nigeria. This will include guiding & supporting field staff in using the existing IM platform & related tools, verifying data quality & ensuring that operational information from the field is promptly reflected in the system’s dashboards, maps & reports. The role will bridge field operations & the IM unit, ensuring that information flows effectively from the field level to national consolidation, supporting decision making & coordination for our clients WASH humanitarian response in Nigeria.
Your Job Description
Support field teams in the accurate collection, verification & timely submission of WASH activity data into the existing IM platform, ensuring adherence to agreed formats & standards.
Facilitate continuous data quality assurance by conducting regular checks in coordination with field staff, verifying accuracy, completeness & consistency of inputs & providing feedback to improve reporting.
Ensure regular updates of WASH operational data in the IM platform, including dashboards, maps & other information products, based on field reports & monitoring visits.
Provide practical guidance & on the job support to field staff on using the IM tools, mobile data collection systems & reporting templates to maintain high quality & timely information flow.
Liaise between the IM team & field operations to capture evolving needs, troubleshoot issues with data collection tools & adjust workflows to fit operational realities.
Contribute to the preparation of progress reports & other field level information products (maps, infographics, snapshots) that reflect real time updates from the IM platform & support decision making at operational & coordination levels.
The Job Requirements
University degree in information management, GIS, computer science or a related field from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in information management, emergency humanitarian operations, management & coordination of information flow, data management including collection, storing, processing & analysing data to generate information products.
In depth knowledge of the latest technological developments in information technology & information system.
Experienced in GIS freeware software, for example Q-GIS.
Experience in toolbox software for mobile data collection, including training Enumerators & setting up smartphones / tablets for data collection.
Demonstrated ability for leadership in the context of partnership building & consensual decision making.
Experience with handling confidential data.
Demonstrated team building & information management skills.
Demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies.
Knowledge & understanding of relational data theory.
Experience in advanced data visualization & information design skills.
Proven skills in analysing statistical information.
Ability to formulate IM related technical requirements & operating procedures.
Ability to translate planning specifications into technical briefs for data capture & analysis & vice versa.
Ability to compile & holistically analyze diverse datasets.
Maintains high ethical standards & acts in a manner consistent with organizational principles / rules & standards of conduct.
