Dangote Sugar Refining Plc (DSR) is a leading sugar manufacturer and Nigeria’s largest sugar producer, dedicated to responsible and sustainable agricultural practices with operational presence in Apapa (Lagos), Numan (Adamawa), and Tunga (Nasarawa).
We are seeking to employ a Social Performance Analyst with experience in Social Sustainability and Data Analysis to enhance our social performance initiatives and drive alignment with our business and sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Social Performance Analysis: Work with Site Social Performance teams to conduct comprehensive assessments of socio-economic initiatives/projects across all sites. Identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in all DSR social activities. Update monitoring documentation and attend SP team weekly meetings.
Analytical Expertise: Collect, analyze, and interpret social performance data (metrics and indicators) from DSR SBUs. Utilize data analytics tools to extract insights that support decision-making.
Reporting & Tracking: Prepare monthly reports and weekly trend analysis on social performance metrics, achievements, and challenges using data analysis and visualization tools. Develop and manage performance measurement frameworks (KPIs and metrics) to assess effectiveness.
Project Management: Work with Group Head, SP, and site teams to create and manage roadmaps and timelines for social performance initiatives. Identify blockers, milestones, and generate periodic reports.
Strategy Management: Assist the Group Head, Social Performance in evaluating the group’s social performance strategy, tracking goals, and suggesting improvements to reporting tools.
Risk Assessment: Collaborate with the Head, SP, and site teams to develop a group SP risk matrix. Help in formulating strategies to mitigate risks and enhance social performance efforts.
ESG Integration: Work with ESG teams to integrate social performance data into broader sustainability strategies and align initiatives with long-term business sustainability goals.
Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to local and international regulations related to social performance. Document best practices for implementation across all DSR sites.
Position Requirements
Education and Experience
3-5 years of experience in Social Performance Management.
Master’s degree in a relevant field (preferred but not mandatory).
Proven experience in strategic stakeholder and social risk management.
Strong background in data analysis, preferably within agriculture or manufacturing.
Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Excel or Power BI.
Skills and Competencies
Solid understanding of social dynamics in agriculture (child labor, forced labor, land acquisition, etc.).
Knowledge of international regulations (IFC, AFDB, GRI, etc.).
Excellent communication skills and ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
Strong business acumen with the ability to align social initiatives with financial goals.
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
Strong conceptual skills and capability to develop practical solutions.
