Description
Carry out technical engineering studies for the design, installation, and standardization of Telecom systems,
mast, earthing, etc., in line with specifications and GS TEL installation rules.
Responsibilities
Operation and maintenance of field systems and equipment such as PA/GA, CCTV, GMDSS, Access Control, Radar with AIS, UHF/VHF Radios, Satellite TV, WiMAX, 4G/LTE, RACON, NBD, Video Conference, and Infrastructure Monitoring Systems.
Prepare technical specifications and scope of work for various Telecom projects, evaluate technical bids, and supervise project deployment.
Prepare specifications for telecom service contracts and required equipment for Annual Maintenance Contracts.
Conduct routine telecommunication assessment visits and propose improvements.
Supervise offshore Telecom specialists and assist in maintenance activities.
Prepare technical reports, evaluate equipment obsolescence, and propose replacement plans.
Develop and update engineering and technical documents and manuals.
Propose improvements in the quality of service provided by Telecommunication Contractors.
Participate in the supervision of third-party contractors to ensure compliance with installation rules.
Recommend and implement solutions for operational problems related to Telecommunication Equipment/Systems.
Participate in FAT and Commissioning activities for all Telecom equipment and systems, prepare punch lists, and track progress.
Optimization Areas
Management of telecom spare parts.
Address non-conformities in line with APAVE audits.
Implement a telecom preventive maintenance plan for production sites.
Upgrade and replace existing systems to integrate new projects.
Participate in commercial activities, coordinate material inspections, evaluate technical offers, prepare service orders, and respond to supplier queries.
Job Requirements
B.Sc. (Second Class Lower) or HND (Distinction) in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in telecommunication or network engineering, operation, and maintenance.
Strong reporting, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Proficiency in computer-aided design and office applications.
