The Driver will be directly working with the Global Fund Malaria project and will operate the MSH vehicle following the MSH guidelines, maintain vehicle logbook, and oversee vehicle maintenance and repairs. The Driver will plan each travel route based on all available information such as road construction and closure, traffic condition, and meeting times.
The Driver will drive safely to take the utmost care of vehicle passengers and drive prudently to protect others on the road. The Driver will coordinate with MSH security and operations staff to take precautions to safeguard the wellbeing and safety of the project team and all passengers, such as planning routes to avoid areas of risk or social movement (ex., political demonstrations, etc.).
The Driver will conduct himself with devoted professionalism and courtesy to ensure interactions with high‐level officials, staff members, and clients reflect MSH’s mission and values.
This position must be aware of and adhere to the MSH Procurement Integrity policy and will assist in safeguarding the assets (financial and physical) of MSH and ultimately donors against fraud, loss, or misuse.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Safely transport the project team, VIP visitors, and other MSH staff to and from meetings, appointments, events, and various locations.
Communicate clearly and promptly with the project team regarding schedule changes and additional transportation requirements.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion concerning project activities, discussions, and sensitive information.
Review the project team’s itinerary regularly and plan movements in coordination with the operations team and Security Unit.
Drive cautiously at all times to ensure passenger safety.
Comply with Nigerian Highway Code Traffic Regulations and adhere to MSH driving rules and transport policies.
Operate and supervise the loading and unloading of goods when required.
Maintain vehicle health records and keep the logbook up to date.
Ensure the security of the vehicle when outside office premises.
Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers during trips.
Provide reliable and secure driving services for MSH, partners, stakeholders, staff, clients, and packages.
Submit properly completed expense reports to the accounting unit in a timely manner.
Ensure all vehicle documents and particulars are current and valid.
Ensure all required vehicle accessories are present and functional.
Keep the vehicle fueled and ready for official use at all times.
Complete trip tickets and maintain accurate records of fuel consumption, run hours, and mileage.
Maintain vehicle logbooks and update all related documentation, including insurance and fitness certificates.
Assist in ensuring vehicle registration, licenses, and insurance remain current and compliant with regulations.
Coordinate with the administrative unit on trip scheduling and approvals.
Ensure all trips are supported by approved trip authorization forms.
Ensure timely Total Card cash top-ups as required.
Conduct regular vehicle maintenance checks and schedule routine servicing.
Report vehicle faults, maintenance needs, incidents, or accidents promptly to the supervisor.
Perform daily vehicle inspections using the checklist to confirm fluids, tires, wipers, belts, cleanliness, and overall roadworthiness.
Ensure sufficient fuel availability for all project and official movements.
Maintain all vehicle-assigned equipment in good working condition, including spare tires and communication equipment, before journeys.
The Job Requirements
Qualifications
High school certificate.
2–4 years of relevant work experience in transportation, mechanics, logistics, or operations.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record (no traffic violations).
Familiarity with GPS devices.
Ability to communicate in English, both written and oral.
Experience with international governmental and non-governmental organizations, donor agencies, etc.
Auto-mechanic experience.
Knowledge of traffic rules, regulations, and safety issues.
Knowledge of minor vehicle repairs, identification of mechanical and electrical issues, and ability to lift heavy loads.
Knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
Knowledge of the Nigerian highway and road system and structure.
Ability to react quickly and make sound decisions under pressure.
Tact, professionalism, and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from a broad range of non-governmental, governmental, and international organizations.
Demonstrated punctuality, attention to detail, patience, friendly demeanor, flexibility, and an overall positive attitude.
