Trading & Portfolio Management
Manage and optimise the company’s gas portfolio (sourcing, nominations, offtakes, swaps, balancing)
Originate and execute gas trades (spot, short-term, medium- and long-term) across domestic and regional markets
Monitor daily/weekly/monthly supply positions and exposure; ensure nominations and flows are accurate and timely
Develop trading strategies that balance margin optimisation with supply security and counterparty risk limits
Commercial Strategy & Business Development
Develop and own the commercial strategy for gas sales, marketing and new business opportunities
Prepare and present commercial proposals, bids, and pricing offers; build compelling commercial cases and financial models
Run commercial due diligence for new supply contracts and joint ventures
Identify and negotiate new customer and supplier partnerships
Analysis & Risk Management
Evaluate trading risks and opportunities
Provide market insights to support business strategy
Collaborate with finance and operations to optimize trading performance
Track contract performance and recommend risk-mitigation actions
Operations & Logistics Coordination
Coordinate with operations, nominations, metering and logistics teams to ensure physical delivery, flow certainty and accurate measurement
Ensure timely coordination of gas nominations, scheduling, accounting and swaps across pipeline systems
Oversee interface with transporters and storage providers for delivery optimization
Resolve operational bottlenecks to maintain uninterrupted gas flow
Team & Collaboration
Work closely with cross-functional teams
Mentor junior traders and analysts
Align trading execution with company objectives
Support team knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement
The Job Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical/Process Engineering, Energy Management, Finance, or related field. Graduate degree (MBA, MSc in Energy Economics or similar) preferred.
5 years progressive experience in gas trading, gas marketing, commercial management, or portfolio management in the energy sector.
Strong financial modelling skills and experience building commercial valuation/pricing models.
Experience with nominations, metering/measurement protocols, and coordinating with pipeline operators.
Familiarity with gas trading tools, CRM/billing systems, MS Excel (advanced), and trading/analytics platforms.
