Your Job Description
THE JOB
Operate generating sets on a daily basis to ensure efficient and effective performance
Monitor generator and engine parameters and take corrective actions where necessary
Take and record hourly engine and generator readings
Conduct routine condition monitoring including visual inspections and sound checks
Troubleshoot generator faults and carry out electrical repairs and minor installations
Maintain electrical auxiliaries, alternators, motors, fans, and electrical panels
Carry out maintenance on HV, MV, and LV panels, equipment, and switchgears
Ensure cleanliness of engine rooms, control rooms, switch rooms, transformer house, and surrounding plant areas
Prepare and maintain shift and maintenance activity reports
The Job Requirements
The Person Must Have
Have good knowledge of power plant operations and generator systems.
Possess strong electrical troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
Be safety-conscious and detail-oriented.
Be willing to work in shifts and respond to operational demands.
Qualifications
5 O’Level credits, including Mathematics and English or OND in Electrical/Electronics.
NABTEB / City & Guilds (C&G) Technical in Electrical or related discipline.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years’ cognate experience in electrical or power plant operations.
