To lead the spare parts store function by ensuring effective planning, control, and optimization of inventory. The role drives compliance with FMN standards (SOPs, 5S, GMP, and HSE), ensures accuracy of system transactions, supports maintenance reliability, and promotes continuous improvement across store operations.

Your Job Description

THE JOB

  • Oversee end-to-end spare parts inventory management, including receiving, identification, storage, issuance, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and adherence to SOPs
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels by analyzing consumption trends, managing reorder points and min-max levels, and reviewing slow-moving or obsolete stock
  • Collaborate closely with Maintenance and Engineering teams to ensure timely availability of critical spares for planned maintenance, breakdowns, and shutdown activities
  • Implement and enforce strong inventory control practices, including cycle counts, periodic stock audits, bin accuracy checks, and variance reconciliation
  • Ensure proper storage and handling conditions for all spare parts, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date spare parts catalogues, equipment BOMs, and codification systems within the CMMS/ERP platform

The Job Requirements

The Person Must

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and people management capabilities.
  • Possess sound technical knowledge of engineering spare parts and inventory systems.
  • Exhibit strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Be detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability.

Qualification

  • HND/BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications in inventory management (e.g., CIPS, CIPSMN or equivalent).
  • Proficiency in CMMS/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Experience

  • Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience managing technical/engineering stores within a manufacturing or process environment.
  • Proven track record of improving stock accuracy, lead-time performance, or cost efficiency will be an added advantage.
