To oversee the milling operation on a shift basis to deliver on the required milling KPIs, product quality, and volume throughput at an optimal cost.

Your Job Description

THE JOB

Optimize the mills to achieve balanced stock distribution, target extraction, and all quality metrics.
Ensure proper wheat gristing and conditioning for milling operations.
Identify training needs for production staff on mill performance, accurate record keeping, and work ethics through on-the-job training.
Coordinate production data capturing to improve productivity and data quality, ensuring accurate shop floor reporting.
Monitor and ensure free material flow from raw wheat bins to the mill to sustain continuous production.
Coordinate basic autonomous production maintenance to ensure machine efficiency.
Implement standard operating procedures for all work processes to enable efficient and safe work execution.
Liaise with QC, QA, and packing managers and supervisors on stock quality and timely product delivery to bins/Arox.
Drive GMP, 5S, and waste reduction programs on shift among team members.

The Job Requirements

THE PERSON MUST HAVE

A deep understanding of milling operations, grain processing techniques, and machinery functionality.
Strong expertise in monitoring production parameters to ensure optimal product quality and consistency.
Proven ability to supervise milling staff, coordinate workflows, and maintain smooth operational efficiency.
Solid knowledge of food safety standards, quality control procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify mechanical or process issues and resolve them promptly.

QUALIFICATIONS

First Degree in Engineering or Science.
Diploma in Milling Technology (SMS).
NABIM milling course, African Milling School course, and IGP.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 7 years cognate experience in similar role.
