Team Lead, Revenue Assurance at First Bank

Job Description

• Daily spooling of General Ledger (GL) balances of branches and head office departments.
• Review of GL pull-outs for Income & Contingent sub-heads.
• Perform in-depth investigations on the GL to identify wrong postings, irregular or abnormal balances, and misclassified accounts.
• Liaise with branches and departments having abnormal balances in income and contingent accounts to regularize them.
• Collaborate with the Internal Control department to ensure all improper GL balances are promptly cleared by the responsible units.
• Prepare and review monthly income and expense trends for input into the Revenue Assurance MANCO report.
• Review fixed deposits booked on the system to ensure there are no unverified system actions preventing rollover or interest payments.
• Review fixed deposit exception/recovery reports for monthly inclusion in the MANCO paper.
• Review uncollected management and commitment fee reports (for loans and overdrafts) on a monthly basis to ensure all fees are charged and approvals obtained where waivers apply.
• Recompute interest income on overdrafts, account maintenance fees, loans, FIP, ROU, and related charges to ensure the system accurately calculates and collects all fees.
• Raise exceptions on uncollected fees against the relevant department/unit for immediate recovery.
• Develop additional scripts to validate system and user accuracy in collecting other income due to the bank.
• Liaise with branches on reasons for drops or increases in income and to correct misclassification of accounts.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly trial balance reviews for trend analysis.
• Provide audit requirements and documentation for both External and Internal Audits.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, ICAN, or CFA is required.
• Minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience in a similar role.
• Experience within financial services industries or commercial banks is considered an advantage.
