Job Description
Prepare tax planning strategies for the bank to achieve optimum tax advantage.
Coordinate tax audits at state and statutory levels effectively.
Liaise with the HOD and local tax advisers to support efficient management of the bank’s tax affairs and local tax liabilities.
Manage compliance with corporate income tax and other tax regimes (including withholding tax and VAT) to minimize the bank’s tax burden.
Create bank-wide tax awareness by facilitating training programmes for affected personnel and providing regular updates on developments within the tax regulatory environment.
Provide updates on new developments and circulars issued by FIRS.
Prepare tax-related reports for Executive Management.
Prepare the bank’s corporate tax returns in collaboration with tax consultants and ensure timely filing of corporate self-assessment returns.
Ensure timely remittance of tax returns and payments.
Ensure prompt payment of corporate tax installments.
Manage staff personal income tax effectively.
Liaise with tax consultants to procure personal income tax clearance certificates for all employees in a timely manner.
The Job Requirements
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Professional accounting qualification such as
ACCA,
ACA,
CPA, or equivalent,
with at least 10 years post-qualification experience
and relevant banking experience.
Minimum of 10–15 years post-qualification experience,
preferably in consulting or financial services.
Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
and IFRS Accounting Policy.
