Your Job Description
The Mechanical Support Supervisor will be responsible for the following:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team (welders, technicians, scaffolders, etc.) to deliver simple and complex activities in FOT.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of mechanical activities.
- Negotiate and address interpersonal and technical conflicts within the team constructively.
- Interpret machine and equipment maintenance manuals, technical drawings, and perform diagnosis.
- Repair, install, and maintain mechanical systems, including static and rotating equipment.
- Use diagnostic tools and mechanical hand tools for fault tracing, vibration detection, and activity execution.
- Perform asset care routines to ensure PM/CM close-out and integrity of assets is maintained.
- Prepare work and stage materials for execution.
- Conduct routine machinery and equipment servicing.
- Perform daily parameter logging, record keeping, and manage mechanical lubricants.
- Carry out routine fabrication using welding tools and materials.
- Perform machining activities such as lathe work, grinding, drilling, and dicing.
- Prepare Job Risk Assessments and Permit to Work documentation.
- Make sound technical and safety decisions during equipment failures and emergencies.
- Identify critical spares and follow up on ordering and delivery.
- Perform flange breaks, positive isolation, and vessel de-sanding activities.
- Promote site safety and continuous hazard identification, mitigation, and close-out.
- Work closely with service contractors to ensure safe delivery of vendor-based maintenance jobs.
- Engage effectively with external parties and regulators.
- Carry out other assignments for continuous improvements as exigent.
Work Cycle
- The work location is a swamp-field based in the West facilities, accessible via water and air.
- The job activity period is daily on a 12-hour routine (7am to 7pm) over a 21-day period.
- There is a standard 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off schedule.
- The successful candidate will manage own absences with his/her contractor for suitably qualified coverage.
- Periodic visits to the Renaissance industrial area may be required for training and official assignments.
- Personnel may be required to work extended hours as needed.
The Job Requirements
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5 years working experience as a Mechanical Technician in an oil and gas producing field location
Key Skills
- Disassemble, assemble, and maintain rotating and static equipment, compressors, and turbines
- Experience in alignment, vibration analysis, and balancing
- Experience in Solar Turbines maintenance
- Experience in Caterpillar Engines D3406, D3512, D3516
- Experience in Sulzer pumps and Flender gear systems
- Experience in Atlas Copco SF11 and mobile air compressors
- Experience in valves maintenance, flange management, and leak detection
- Experience in pump fluid-end inspections and driver/gear alignments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in equipment condition monitoring
- Experience in mechanical system maintenance
- Skill in equipment troubleshooting and fault analysis
- Basic workshop machinery and welding machine use and effective supervision
- Failure analysis and technical report preparation
Soft Skills (Added Advantage)
- Computer literate (competent user of Microsoft Office and ability to liaise with programs)
