To support commercial team and procurement team by rolling out accurate product cost and simulation for new products, analyse product cost and purchase variance analysis for prompt corrective action and decision making in line with the organisational procedures.

Your Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform product cost calculation and analysis on a monthly, quarterly, and as-required basis to support business decision-making.
  • Ensure cost drivers are visible to the commercial team by providing detailed product cost analysis for both existing and new products to be launched.
  • Evaluate and monitor purchase price variance to prevent reporting errors and challenge the procurement team to optimize material costs.
  • Support the commercial team by providing standard costs on a monthly basis for use in monthly financial planning.
  • Prepare and submit CSL overhead budgets on a quarterly and annual basis in line with communicated deadlines.
  • Maintain balance sheet control, reconcile and review Material Price Variance (MPV), Landed Unit Cost (LUC), Post Goods Issue (PGI), inventory, and other Cost of Sales (COGS) related issues.
  • Coordinate FG stock counts across all DCs and Depots, report reasons for stock variance to stakeholders, and ensure adequate controls are in place.
  • Provide clarity and responses to any queries or requests from internal and external audits related to COGS.

Key Stakeholders: Internal Relationships

  • Cross-functional teams from Finance Shared Services, Commercial, Supply Chain, and related departments.

The Job Requirements

Knowledge / Skills / Qualifications / Technical / Professional Experience

  • Minimum of B.Sc. / HND in a relevant discipline
  • Membership of ICAN or ACCA is desirable

Technical / Professional Experience

  • 3–5 years minimum work experience
  • FMCG and SAP product costing experience preferred
  • Strong analysis and stock accounting experience required
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools
  • Sound knowledge of accounting and financial principles and practices
